Witnessing History - A new era of Aviation and Tourism

At the end of June we were lucky enough to be a part of Aviation history attending the launch event for Qantas' Direct Perth to Rome. This event was on the back of our first trip back out to our international markets.

The event was an incredibly positive experience and as self-proclaimed "Aviation Geeks", being able to be at the official launch was fantastic. (If only we were able to go to all the launches of the upcoming direct flights!)

Having the ability to fly direct to a destination that once seemed "far away" if a game changer for Perth and Western Australia. Reducing the amount of time spent at airports for connecting flights, delayed aircraft and going through airport security... again, will hopefully make the experience of flying long haul to Western Australia more enjoyable.

I was able to use the new service to get home from Rome to Perth and personally found the direct service a lot more convenient, though I didn't manage to avoid Jet lag - however this may have been amplified due to the 2.5 weeks of TWA's Adventure Awaits UK and EU roadshow.

This Roadshow was Nationwest Aviation's first, in person, roadshow since 2019 and it was great to get back out to market and visit our agents. We had a great turnout and did product updates with over 250 people. That's over 250 people who are passionate about sending people to Western Australia to see and experience all the things that make Western Australia unique.

Our highlighted experience was the Abrolhos Island Discovery Tour where people loved the footage of our local wildlife, stunning coral and the fact that the islands are being looked after with sustainable tourism so that generations to come can enjoy this jewel of the coral coast.

It is heartwarming to see that peoples' love for Australia is still strong and that they want to experience the things we are lucky to have in our backyard. Being able to welcome back our international visitors and have them join our local tourists is fantastic, and adds to the positive, fun atmosphere.

On a side note; today is actually our Kalbarri bases' 15th anniversary. We took over management of Kalbarri Air Charter (now Kalbarri Scenic Flights) in July 19 2007, and in the last couple of years added this Nationwest Aviation brand. 15 years and we obviously still love what we do and are looking forward to the years to come.

Cheers! And safe travels - Nationwest Aviation
